Eduardo Cuervo
I am a computer science researcher and software engineer. I have been at Facebook for the past 2 years leading the cross-functional effort to bring multi-tasking to the Oculus Quest.
I’m a pioneer of cloud gaming, cloud / edge offload and edge computing having worked on the subjects for over 10 years. I co-founded the Cloud and Edge Mobile Mixed Reality umbrella project at Microsoft Research.
I have co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed technical publications and I am a co-inventor of over 15 issued and pending patents. My work has garnered over 3000 citations.
I received the Best Paper award in MobiSys 2015 and COMSNETS 2011, and the Best Demo award in MobiSys 2014.
My work has been covered by the media appearing in venues such as ZDNet, Engadget, GameSpot, Ars Technica and others.
Before Facebook and Microsoft, I was a Research Scientist at HP Labs. I got my M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at Duke University.
